Wood/ Townsend Christmas 2010

Head dishwasher and Head cook!!

Check out those legs....he's starting to get chubby. Oh, the chins kind of give it away!

Concentration! Gingerbread house contest. Pake, Riley, and I took on Tandy, KD, and Tate. You know we sooo won!! Pake did a great job with all the decorating.

See how Scout helped Tandy and Tate?

Scout really didn't want to take a picture and she wasn't about to put her tutu back on.

Mimi's grandkids!!
Tate, Summer, Reno, Trail, Scout, Autumn, and Pake

Reno with Daddy and Mommy!!

Tate has a hard time being serious...can you tell?

Scout loves her new teepee. She also got a horse barn and pickup and trailer.

Summer picked this out...soo her!!

Future Summer!! This is Scout posing in "the tutu".

Duck, duck

The boys tried to teach Scout how to play!

I'm not sure how successful they were, but it was pretty funny anyways.

"....over by Red River (Springer to be exact) to the Wood's (you all know Preston & Janey) to Mimi's house we go...."

Our "one-horse open sleigh" was packed to the brim. Riley claimed we had it squattin'. Hopefully we give more than we receive because if not I don't know how we'll make it fit.

Sandhill Christmas Party 2010

We (mostly Tripp) decided that Sandhill should have a Christmas party. It has been the talk for quite a few years, but we finally got it together this past Sunday and it came true last night. It consisted of some tasty food, some gift stealing, and some dummy roping.

Fashion Diva!!

I took a gift for Scout to open, it was this tutu and the zebra tights. She had to take her pants off and added a few things. She thought Autumn's cosmetic bag was her new purse.

The girls didn't steal, but the guys sure did. Here they are testing out their new ropes.

Good thing Red got tools and not Riley or Tripp. (Don't forget...they can fix anything!)

Peace, Love, & Summer is 18!!

Summer turned 18 on the 18th. She had a "big party" at her house. Scout has been into "big parties" since the Fall Festival. We made the mistake of telling her that it would be like a "big party", so now everywhere we go it's a "big party". Funny thing kind of is when you're with Scout. She also likes to throw her hands in the air and say "it will be fun".

Oh, back to Summer, especially since she's the whole reason for this post.

Remember that beautiful baby with a head full of dark hair?

Her own unique design, complete with peacock feathers. Hope did a great job!

The candy table with photos over the past 18 years.

The favor tree was my contribution to the decor. It was much cuter in person.

Sum and her "crazy" friends!

We played a little trick on Tripp to get his picture in the hat. Tandy isn't scared, she gladly modeled it for us.

We finally convinced Scout that this silly dancing, singing hat wouldn't get her.

Reno is such a party-pooper these days.

He's either getting her or telling her to stay back!!

Trail was an "elf" in his school program.

Autumn should've been an "elf" with those crazy socks. Love the funny faces!!

Scout loves her some "Aunt Hope"!

The newest game is called "laughin' at Mama (or whoever else they feel like picking on)".

Reno snoozed through all the excitement, then woke up when it was time to go home. Pretty typical behavior for that boy.

Happy Elfing!!

Reno - 2 months

Reno looks big compared to Andy and small compared to Scout.

7 wk stats:
10.5 lbs

Reno, your personality comes out a little more each day. You are going to be so smart. I have decided that maybe you play possum in hopes that your sister will leave you alone. Each day when we all lay down for a nap, you decide that it's "awake" time. (Yes people...sometimes I end up napping for a bit!!)

You don't take a pacifier very well. That is unless sister gives you no choice. Many times I have caught her holding it in your mouth. This quite possibly explains why you gag on it most of the time.

Reno you do have a little bit of a temper. The other evening I put you down for the night in the bassinet (which yo
u have outgrown). I lay you down awake most of the time and you put yourself to sleep. On this particular night that didn't suit you. By the time I could get back to the kitchen you were screaming and continued for a bit after I picked you up. Then you were asleep within seconds after I started rocking you. Can you say "spoiled"? That's alright, we wouldn't have it any other way.

Today was Open House at the bank!! Here Scout and her dad are enjoying some dessert. What kid doesn't love iced Christmas cookies? Uhh...I still do!!

Notice the Christmas bells in Scout's hair? She calls them her "ring bells".

This is me at 2 months. So, does the boy look like me?

Read the shirt :) !!

Yes, this is sort of a mean joke on Riley. He could fix things if he really needed to. I think, or so he claims.

Cowboys just don't need to fix things unless it involves a horse or tack. My own dad wasn't big on fixing things, therefore he didn't teach my brother, therefore it just isn't a big deal around Sandhill Cattle Co. Thank goodness they have Keith to do all that "dirty work".

Oh, and I wanted you to see how big Mr. Reno is getting.

Last night the call comes......Holsteins are out. They had been moved the previous day and obviously didn't like the new patch of wheat.

We arrive, at around 8:00 pm, to find that Tripp already has a big bunch of them found. So the tough part begins. Have you ever tried to drive Holsteins? the dark? At one point we were getting pretty close to having them in the pen so Riley and I get out on foot. Uhh...not smart. I saw my fairly athletic body and my beautiful face (joke, joke) flash before my eyes as the stampede of black and white almost went straight over the top of me. So we did eventually pen 125 of them.

Then for the following 1.5 hours we drove around looking for 25 head of missing "Holstinks". I swear Scout came up with it on her own. Mom used to raise baby Holsteins therefore I've been around them quite a little and never come up with anything that clever.

These are not our Holstinks, but they were about this size. You don't get pictures when it's dark and they are about to run over you. So seriously, how does Pioneer Woman get all those pictures where the cattle or horses are running on either side of her? She must have a lot of people working for her to stage a deal like that. My Marlboro Man isn't that cooperative, oh and I'm not making him rich because I'm such a good blogger, cook, etc.

Peace, Love, & the JOYs of wheat pasture cowboys!!
