We had a nice and calm first week at home with Reno. The weather turned fallish while were in. It was nice to watch the rain and made perfect stay-in-bed kind of weather. Mimi and Gigi both came to help out some and spoil on their grand-babies. Here are a few pictures from our week.

Scout used a dish towel to be all swaddled up. For the most part she has been such a big girl.

So happy to hold brother!

Our friend Tessa with Reno.

The new and improved Smith Family!

Lovin' me some Reno!!

Scout and Papaw gettin' a little wild with the gourd.

Luckily no one was hurt. lol

My babies all fancied up for Sunday.

Reno at 1 week with Riley's Raggedy Andy.

Scout and Reno are such completely different babies. They are both super great and we are getting good sleep. I know, we are so lucky. Scout came into this world raring to go, just like she is now. Reno on the other hand has probably only been awake for a total of 9 or 10 hours. He is such a sleepy head which takes some adjusting because Scout never did the sleep all the time baby thing. His dad was supposedly a very laid-back baby and he must be as well.

Two babies is quite fun, especially changing the size 6 and size N diapers. She will be potty-trained someday, don't worry. We love our new family even if it is a little challenging sometimes.

Reno Wade Smith 10-16-2010

Sat - 10/16/2010 - Finish painting Scout's dresser

Sun - 10/17/2010 - Clean out garage, work at Brad's

Mon - 10/18/2010 - Cook up some food, clean house (Dr. Davis back in town...whew!!)

Tues - 10/19/2010 - Dr appt, pick up things to finish Reno's room

Wed - 10/20/2010 - Wait one more day Reno it will work better for Mimi!

This was my plan for the next week or so. I had so many things that I seriously thought I'd have time to get done. Yeah right.....babies just do what they want to. My first baby is 2 and is still calling it exactly like she wants.

I had reason to think my water broke on Saturday morning. I wasn't completely sure and wasn't feeling any contractions to speak of, so I suggested to Riley that we leave Scout with Hope and go eat lunch in Hereford. Honestly I thought we might eat and come right back home. When we got there I sort felt some pressure so we cruised on to Amarillo. Keep in mind *****My doctor is out of town.***** I didn't know if I was in labor or not so we went to the theater but were there at the wrong time to see The Secretariat. By the way I still want to see it. At this point we didn't really know what to do, so we napped in the car for a moment. My nurse finally advised that we go to the hospital and let them check me that way we would just know one way or the other.

The rest of the story is pretty self explanatory. My labor progresses very quickly once I get going.

Reno Wade Smith was born at 7:38 pm on October 16, 2010. He weighed 6 lb 12 oz and measured 19.5 inches long.

With our little fella'

Scout really wanted to hold him by herself. (surprised?)

Finally someone for Trail to catch frogs and lizards with.

They brought my supper on Sunday night and Scout helped herself. She does love chicken fried steak and "graby".

I'm Spoiled!!

I'm spoiled and addicted to Craigslist. I have had great luck with items from the Amarillo area and not such luck in Lubbock. My super sweet, tolerant husband was along on this one and helped me load and unload these wagon wheels.

I hope the sweet girl doesn't find my blog because I have a confession to make. I thought she only had two of these babies for sale and the offer I made was based on that. She showed up with four and took $50 more.....so what I'm trying to tell you people is that I pretty much stold 'em.

All but one of them is in super good shape.

I also got these two little tires. They have a metal rim and hub and wooden spokes.

The little tire that still has rubber on it even has a FORD symbol on the hub. Any idea what it might have come off of?

Now these beauties are not in my backyard, so don't get any ideas. I know you people and I'll soon have 'em bolted down somehow so they don't go missing.

I'll try a Sweet T Girl sign off..........

Peace, Love, & It's ok to be jealous!!

Punchin' Cattle

I think she'll make it as a "cowgirl" for sure. She was happy to get up at 5:30 am, even ate a few eggs for breakfast. She snoozed on the way to Miami where these cattle were, but the moment we pulled up she was awake .......

and ready to help load trucks.

When these 700 #ers snorted in her face....

it never even phased her.

She just used her whip on 'em!!

"He Taste My Face"

This past weekend we went to a little ranch rodeo in Channing. Our friend Jessica was there with her blue heeler puppy "Dually". Scout had a big time playing with him. Jessica told us how Rodey instructed her not to let the puppy bite Scout. (Pretty funny....sounds like he's ready for a little girl.) I told her it was more like don't let Scout bite the puppy. She did like to yank on his legs but I don't think she caused too much harm. When Riley got home that night she told him that "he taste my face". You know....puppy dog kisses.

A few of the other funnies that she says are....

If something is either too big or too small she says, "It's too fit".

She is always "gonna, bout to fall".

Baby Room PROGRESS

We are finally making progress on the baby room. My MIL came to help out and I worked her pretty hard. Scout loves to help and luckily we didn't even have any big spills or messes with paint. Dad and Papaw did help keep her entertained outside most of the time.

We did let her help fill nail holes.

Yucky hands!!

Wash, wash.....

Gigi rolling on the paint.

Miss Imagination helped with a dry roller and the plastic lid of a storage box as her paint tray. Notice the Easter shoes we've been having to wear everywhere.

Queen B

Summer Lynn, you may know her as the Sweet T girl, was a queen candidate at Lazbuddie Homecoming 2010. She designed the dress and her crafty mother made it happen.

Jordan, Summer, Kaleigh, & Kylie

Tripp & Summer

Oh, I almost forgot!! She wasn't just a candidate.....she was the Queen.

She is very good friends with the king, Colton

I already had this shirt for Miss Scout. How perfect that it has a longhorn on the back. By the way, she was pretty disappointed that Lazbuddie didn't have a longhorn mascot.

She did enjoy the stairs and the concession stand very much though.

Congratulations Summer Lynn!!

Gigi's New Ride

So we shipped cattle at Stinnett yesterday. We do this same thing every year around the last weekend in September. Gigi usually drives the pickup along, but this year she was out there in the middle of everything on her new Ranger. Scout and I slept in and pretty much missed all the excitement, but Riley said she really gave 'em heck.

Scout had rather play on the hood.....

or swing on the roll-bar!

She'd really just rather be doing whatever her *Dad is doing.

I got all excited because I thought I killed this rattlesnake when I ran over it. Come to find out Bob had already run over it as well.

Papaw and Scout played on the Ranger trailer while Gigi and I shopped (you'll see).

I call myself a "junker", but I don't even compare to this lady. We'd just killed that rattlesnake yet she was all about tromping through tall weeds to get to this abandoned house that was so full of stuff you couldn't see the floor. I was afraid there might be a den of snakes or who knows what. She only fell flat on her face once, luckily she wasn't hurt. See the cool screens she dug out for me.

I found this lamp shade frame all by myself. You're so welcome for the belly shot (36 weeks).

*Scout is big on the Dad and Mom thing right now. She'll ask, "Where'd my Mom go?" or "I wost (lost) my Dad."
