Corn & Crazy Cousins

These words pretty well describe the day. We put up corn today. Such a messy job, but such a good feeling. Thanks to Hope's parents for planting and sharing. So, we spent most of the day at the Townsend's doing that.

Crazy cousins.......'nuff said. These kids are some-kind of wild when they all get together (including my little toot). They are having great fun and believe it or not, Tandy..... I'm pretty relaxed about what they are doing.

Pake went to the feedyard with Riley & Tripp after lunch. I'm not sure what all they did, but I'm thinking it was work. Tate & Trail stayed and swam in the tank. Scout napped while they went to VBS. Somehow we still had energy for some roping and cooking out at the feedyard this evening. After showers the little rats ditched me to spend the night with Trail. That's cool, they are cousins!!

It was such a busy day and now that we've finally slowed down I realize exactly how tired I am. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Tandy..........hope ya'll are having a good time. Tater said he missed his Momma when he heard your message. Call my cell, I'll try to keep it on me. Hopefully we'll catcch ya next time.

They Beat Pete!!

So if you aren't from around here and don't watch News Channel 11....let me explain. There is this sports guy Pete who challenges local folks or in this case we challenged him. I'm not sure who contacted him but it was to promote the 65th Annual Earth Rodeo. It's a pretty fun time and I think they've added some new stuff this year.

Go here to watch, it is the ribbon roping one.

Summer Time

This past week I've had quite a bit to do at Brad's and I think I went there every single day for 7 days. We did find time for the simple things of summer.......swimming and cooking out.

OK....so for those of you who didn't know about my job let me explain. I work for a guy here in town that owns a manure spreading business. He is a hoot and we tease each other unmercifully. So I never say that I'm at work or going to work, instead I just call it Brad's.

This picture of Trail going down the slide cracks me up!

Scout and Autumn also went down the slide. I was there to sort of catch her when they landed. She didn't go under just a big splash in the face, but it didn't bother her a bit.

Scout really likes the water. It is funny because she doesn't cling to you or seem to care if you are holding her or not. She tries to dive forward and sometimes gets a little drink of that yummy water.

This is Tripp & Keith at the camp site on the Cain (Gibson) Ranch. We have a good time cooking and playing games out there. (More on the game subject to follow.) I'm not sure if I've mentioned anything about Keith. He and his wife, Linda, are moving here to Earth. Actually he's been here awhile and she'll be here soon. Keith started working for my dad about the time I was born. He worked for him off and on for a number of years. Keith is like family.

We had fewer people than we usually do, so we had a little relay race. Hope and Trail ran down the hill to Tripp and Riley, they ran over to Autumn and I, then we ran up the hill to the big sage bush. This is Autumn and I waiting for Tripp and Riley. If you look closely you can barely see Riley behind the soap weed.

This is Riley handing off to me. Where is Tripp? (He's my brother I can tease him if I want, he sure doesn't hold back with me.)

This is me headed up the hill. Ok....so you see how much head start I had right? She almost caught me and would have if it had been 10 yards further. I should be going out there to work out.

Fun Times!!

Proud to be an American.....

We had a very happy 4th of July. Thanks to all who have served and are still serving our country. Think of the freedoms that we have. I know that I take that for granted.

Guess what we did.....yep you guessed it Sandhill was in a rodeo at Colorado Springs, CO. This is usually our more pampered trip versus the camping out that we did in Hugo, CO. We usually have a little more free time for swimming, etc. This year is was rainy the whole time so we didn't get to do much.

On Friday night there is always a party for the contestants. This year it was on the rooftop of the Pavilion at the Norris-Penrose Equestrian Center. So.....we did go bowling after the party got rained out. Mom bowled a 141 and only Tripp beat her by one point to be the champ. Riley bowled a 56 on his first game.....ha ha....maybe there is something that he isn't good at. I bowled 80 something....not too hot. You know it's kind of hard to keep a busy 13 month old out of the way and happy while you are bowling. It was a fun time anyway.

Watching the rodeo!

Do you know how nice it is to have Hope and her kiddos to help entertain Scout?

Scout found a little guy to play with during the rodeo. Hope was providing some treats that they sure were interested in.

Me & Scout (Won't be showing that tummy when we get a little older, but we just can't help it now.)

The whole team got a pretty big kick out of Quentin getting plowed by the cow. You have to watch pretty closely, Tripp's horse kind of hides it. Pretty funny!!

Scout riding with her Dad!

JC Bridges.....he endured the ride with us.

Trail and Scootie sleeping on the way home.
