Yeah give me a give me give me a redneck girl.......

"A redneck girl likes to cruise in Daddy's pickup truck"

"She got a kiss on her lips for her mom and nobody else"

"A coyote's howling out on the prairie"

I think this was my favorite song as a little girl, maybe Scout will love it too. We do know that she loves to go with her Dad, especially to the feedyard where there are puppies and lots of cows getting bites.

Toe-Mater

Toe-mater has a double meaning here. Toe is because Scout didn't sleep a wink on the four hour trip home from Mimi and Papa's last Saturday evening, instead she blew or sucked on her toe most of the way. She has recently figured out this blowing thing so don't be surprised if she comes up to you and blows on your arm.

Second meaning of toe-mater is exactly what it is.....toemater. Isn't that how ya'll say it around your house? Papa is the toemater guru and during our little picking spree we actually got 92 toematers. Yummm.....I think I almost foundered on toematers during our stay.

Mimi, Scout, Aunt Pat, and Papa picking toematers.

Scout mostly liked to pick the green toematers, so she had to have some pretty close supervision by Mimi. She had the most fun to try to carry the bucket around.

Scout decided she was finished and tried to call under the fence to head back to the house.

Mom tried to get a picture of us by her pretty flowers, but Scout just wouldn't be still and look at the camera.

Here is Scout wearing Mimi's boots. She loved them and tried to walk around, but just couldn't do it.

Bye bye, Paci

Recognize this........

Pacifier, paci, plug, or otherwise known as a life saver. It is perfect for keeping the kiddo quiet in meeting, the car, Wal-Mart....pretty much everywhere, anytime. It is such a convenience thing and Scout has had it since Day 2. She didn't care too much about it for awhile, but in the last couple of months she has been really attached. When driving down the road I could ask where her "paci" was and she would help me look for it. We could never keep up with the silly thing. She learned at a very early age to undo the pacifier leash and of course it was also super fun to get mad and throw it while in the carseat. When Pake and Tate were here this summer we had a Paci Hunt and they were paid $0.50 for every one they could bring me. We found around twelve.

Yep, I am a mean momma and decided that when she had a snotty nose last week and couldn't very well breathe and suck on the paci that it was a perfect time to take it away. Take away the child's comfort when she's sick. Sorry, I'm just mean like that. Today is one week without the paci. We even made it through Sunday pretty well.

She is her Da-Dee all over again......

Seriously

who likes these things

called Ranch Style Beans?

I can assure you that there are only two people in this household that love them. A perfectly healthy supper for a 15 month old, right? That is, supper for a 15 month old that weighs 25 lbs 8 oz and is 32.5 inches tall. She ain't hurtin' folks.

Special Picture

This is the special picture I'm talking about. I was so excited today to get this shot of my great-Aunt LaVerne posing with Scout and I. Scout hasn't been super interested in her lately and I was just scared that I wouldn't get a good pic of the three of us. She doesn't get out much, but did make it to potluck lunch today. She even looks like she feels good in this picture.

Before she had to move to the nursing home in Muleshoe she was my next door neighbor. She is the oldest of my grandmother's eight siblings and the only one living. She will be 99 in January. What a special lady!!!!

On the other hand.........this is not so hot of a picture but it does give an idea of what our little cheerleader outfit looks like. She started clapping immediately when we arrived at the pep rally on Friday. Then I got to thinking about her deep little voice and how she always says "hey". Look out folks she may be a cheerleader after all. More cheerleader pics to come this football season.

Here's our cheerleader that loves to show off her muscles and wink!! We're gonna..........I mean.........we do have our hands full.

Hope everyone has a fun and safe Labor Day!!
