Whateva u like we do for uuuu........

Whateva we can do at home....with our storage box full of epsom salt, a little foot cream, and some polish. I know Scout will be bringing me a box wanting water because she has already been doing it today.

I even sat in Preston's massage chair while Mom gave me a pedi....who needs Lucky Nail?

Scout with Pop (Hope's dad) at Chili's. I had to get a picture because she usually doesn't want much to do with him. We are so glad for David and Julie.......they are like another set of grandparents.

So we were at Chili's for Summer's 17th birthday. Scout ate like such a pig. Here Summer and Tripp are feeding her dessert.

Summer also had some kids over for her birthday. This picture doesn't do the cake justice.....it was awesome. Hope does such a good job. We went out to the Cain and played cops and robbers. These kids are a tougher than me. Nobody is dropping me off in the middle of the country where there are wild animals, cactus, and freezing cold. Hope, Julie, Scout, and I kept the fire going.

Happy Birthday Summer Lynn!!!

Two beauties and two out-of-it aunties.....

So......Tandy and I took these two beauties shopping on Saturday. No, I'm not being sarcastic.....they really are beautiful and I'm not just saying it cuz they're my nieces.

We shopped it up and tried on accessories in Forever 21. Yeah....about Forever 21......I sort of feel like I'll forever be 21 while I'm shopping there. However I really think it stands for a 21 inch waist, which I don't have therefore most of the clothes are too tiny for me. I did buy a shirt though.

The whole point of the shopping was because Tandy and I have their names for Christmas and goodness knows I wouldn't even try to pretend I could pick something they would actually like and not be embarassed to wear. So they pointed stuff out to us. Some of it will be a surprise and some won't.

Tandy picked these out and brought them to us for a picture. It was early in the day before we were tired of fighting the crowds. Yuck!! Too bad I'm still gonna have to go back....and probably more than once.

Thanksgiving

Scout, myself, Riley, Brook, and Kaitlyn

So this picture was taken pretty late on Friday afternoon. Hey you would stay in your pj's all day too if you'd just ridden in the car with a 18 month old all the way to San Antone. Mr. Smith (I'm just going to say that since I'm not really sure if Riley is solely responsible.) helped us find a short-cut which took us right through Fredericksberg. Luckily I was already pretty much asleep because looking at the cool stores all lit up for Christmas would have caused me to be super sad that it was approximately 10 pm and we wouldn't be stopping.

Someday I will get there and to Canton. Whatever....we're talking about Thanksgiving.

Riley and Scout roping the dummy.....not too much to do in the city.

Riley wore his glasses on the drive down and his sideburns were so long they were bushing out all crazy. Brook and I convinced him that he must have a haircut. Buzz cut.....pretty cute if I might say so.

On Saturday we went out to Kait's parent's ranch. This is Scout and Kay (Kait's mom) pretend shopping with their credit card machine. We had a fabulous time there. Brook grilled an awesome meal for us and then of course.......Riley's favorite pastime.........PICTURES.

Speaking of pictures.....this one would be great if the monkey wasn't making a whiney face. I'm pretty sure this took place in the house after one set of pics. She really did pretty good considering getting teeth, too much car seat, changing clothes, etc. Christmas pics coming up!! You can also check them out on Kait's site http://www.kaitlynsmithphoto.photoreflect.com/

Oh, about the meal I mentioned earlier.....this is all you need to see to understand what I'm talking about.

What a great pic of the guys and their dad!!

Kait, Scout, and Mr. Dale (Kait's Dad) taking a little ride.

We had a great time.....too bad it is so far. It makes me appreciate Brook and Kait always coming up here. Thanks for having us ya'll and we can't wait to see you again soon.

WRCA......World Championship Ranch Rodeo

We look forward to it all year, then we are so exhausted and happy to be home. You have to win a sanctioned WRCA rodeo in order to qualify for the Finals in Amarillo. It is pretty much like the NFR except for ranch rodeo. This year there were 24 teams and it was super tough. Like the heck with just having an OK rodeo and not getting any no times. I'm talking you better just set out to win the event both rounds so that you can also pick up average points. Needless to say....we did not win the rodeo. Our bunch did pick up a few prizes. I'll get to that in a minute.

Hunter, Tate, Pake, and Brendon

Tandy's bunch who also participated in Pokey's Junior Ranch Rodeo. Pretty fun watchin'.

These funny green glasses were just one of Hope's tricks to help keep Scout entertained.

Scout was really happy.......if we let her climb up and down the steps like she wanted to. Little monkey is too smart......everytime Sandhill went in and I stood up to video she would take off up the stairs. She so knows when you aren't watching her that close.

Please Mimi.......can I have your pen?

Sorry....you can't have it back now!

Scout, Riley, and I at the awards ceremony.

So....about the awards. Riley was named Top Hand of the whole rodeo. Kind of weird since we didn't win the rodeo, right? Well it is judged by doing lots of roping and no missing and riding the broncs. On most teams the guy who rides the bronc doesn't get to do much roping. So that doesn't leave that many people to choose from. Riley didn't miss a single loop and covered both broncs. It probably won't happen again (cuz hopefully he won't be riding any more broncs), so we're gonna enjoy it now.

Tripp, Summer, Autumn, and Riley all competed in the ranch horse contest. Riley won the Ranch Hand class and Tripp won the Senior Class. On Sunday after the final rodeo performance they had a work-off to name an overall ranch horse winner. Tripp beat Riley and everyone else pretty bad. The girls showed in the junior class where Autumn won second and Summer got about fifth I think. It was really tough and all depends on the cow you get, etc.

Here are some videos from the rodeo.

Beauty shop....already?

I finally took Scout in for a hair cut, actually it was more just a bangs trim. Either way she needed it super bad. Thanks to Hope for taking these pictures.

I call this face "ornery".
Nothing like a Sonic DP to keep a girl still.

Of course we had to check ourselves out in the mirror.

Thanks to Kayla at Tres Bella in Muleshoe.

Get a load of this.....

Below you will find the past 6 weeks in summary.

Scout and Riley checking cattle at Hub.
(No town.....just a cafe that Riley loves. Hub is otherwise known as the blinking light between Muleshoe and Friona.)

Mimi teaching Scout to dance.
On our way to the family reunion (in Buffalo Gap, TX) we stopped in Post at Pake's football game. Here are the two busy bodies gettin "busy".

Scout and I visited our friend Margie at the museum in Canyon.
If you haven't been to PPHM you should go. Let me rephrase that....if you haven't been recently you should check it out. I worked there all through college and I promise it changes almost daily.

Garage sale-ing with Larkin and the kiddos.
It really isn't worth it....is it? It's always fun to see who makes the most money, though.

We traveled to Morse, TX to ship cattle with Riley's parent.
This photo was actually taken horseback. Of course this was before they ran over us about 6 times. At one point I thought we might have to tell the trucks to come back another day. We did finally get them.

Scout loving her some H2O.
Water is the best toy for this kid. Just give her the water hose, a sink, our Sierra water dispenser, your bath water......whatever.......and she's happy.

Samantha Herriage & Rexee Jo Jackson
On October 5th sweet Rexee (on the right) and her mom, Tammy, were killed in an accident. I had Rexee in class last spring when I subbed here at S-E. She was such a hoot....everybody loved her. So sad.

Mini S-E Cheerleader
Scout is fascinated with cheerleaders. I'm pretty confident you'll see her sporty that green and gold outfit for years to come.

My 10 year HS Reunion
Pictured here is all seven of us and our spouses. No......I didn't graduate with six others in 1999.....the other 23 just didn't feel like showing up. Sort of a sore subject because Jess, Amanda, and I did lots of work hunting everybody down. See you in 2039 for #40.

Hubby & I
Bright side of the deal is that we got a good picture of just us. We also left Scout overnight for the second time. She hardly even looked my way the next morning when I picked her up.

Here is a video of the monkey feeding herself.
So Miss Par-ti-cu-lar won't eat unless she gets to feed herself. Way to go Tripp and Trail for passing down all the particularness to my child.

Here we are at the huge playground in Plainview.
We watched Autumn run at the district cross country meet and played a little.

Hope & Kristin
We had the first ever Smith Halloween Bash. It was pretty comical and I wish I had pictures. I didn't even think of handing my camera over to someone else since I was in the kitchen when everyone arrived. Let's just say David Templeton (Hope's dad) dressed up. I truly never thought I'd see the day.

Wild Indian
Sort of fitting since I couldn't get her still enough to even get a picture "in costume".

Pooped.....I'm plain tired from this silly post. Maybe it'll teach me not to put it off this long ever again.

Yeah give me a give me give me a redneck girl.......

"A redneck girl likes to cruise in Daddy's pickup truck"

"She got a kiss on her lips for her mom and nobody else"

"A coyote's howling out on the prairie"

I think this was my favorite song as a little girl, maybe Scout will love it too. We do know that she loves to go with her Dad, especially to the feedyard where there are puppies and lots of cows getting bites.
