Our Jockey Girl

As many of you know Scout is obsessed, I repeat, obsessed with race horses.  All she talks about is Seabiscuit, Secretariat, The Pie, and Stripes.  She watches the movie and does exactly what they are doing.
That means that if Velvet is wearing a dress, Scout runs to put on a dress.  If Velvet is wearing riding pants, Scout runs to put on tights, a long sleeve shirt, and a cap.  If Pie is sick we lay our horse over and cover him with blankets.  Well, you get the idea and can only imagine what a wreck my bedroom becomes.
This is why I ordered her a jockey outfit.  It is really only a costume, but a pretty good one.  She had me take off the shoe covers that looked like boots.  She wears her purple top boots instead.
Being a true jockey, she is also a little discouraged with Rose.  She has realized that she will never be a race horse and has sort of lost interest.  I personally am a little worried about the jockey.  If she keeps it up she's going to be at least 5'10" and I'm pretty sure that isn't going to work.

Ruidoso here we come!!

Oh, I'm so glad someone else's kids dress in character while watching a movie. My son had to be in full get-up before he watched Davy Crocket or Gun Smoke. Keeping up with the mess is exhausting, I agree.

It's funny how particular they are about it to. I guess I'm happy they have imagination enough to do so.
