July 4, 2010

We stopped at the Wood household on our way to Colorado Springs. Mom broke out the costumes. Here is Scout dressed as a kitty cat.

Trail as the "Big Bad Wolf".

"Swim in the water".....is what Scout calls this. She had a great time with her cousins and her Dad had a great time try to get Summer in the pool. Daddy always makes her go under. I'm not that mean.

Talking with some kids. This child doesn't know a stranger. She'll get right in the middle of a group of kids that she doesn't even know.

All decked out for July 4th.....watching the "yo-yo" (rodeo).

It is such a relief for mama when she rides with Dad and I don't have to worry about her running off or jumping off the stairs.

Riley riding a bronc and being picked up by his good friends Rodey and Sage. The deal was that if it looked like he was gonna get bucked off Rodey would just come pick him up. If you look closely they are talking the whole time. Pretty funny!!

Wild Cow-Milking..............got milk? JC, I never have let you have it for that. What am I waiting on?

I swear they are twins except for the 15 year age difference.

Love Tripp's smile....by the way he won Top Horse. I guess you can smile however you want when you are as good as him.

Our family, yes my eyes are bugged out. If you chased Scout all evening yours would be too. By the way.....Riley won Top Hand.

After the 8 hour drive home we popped fireworks at David and Julie's. Scout liked them pretty well.

Ready to call it a weekend, but FUN it was!!

Thanks for the comments. Be patient, we'll get caught up someday.

HUGO....

I think of Hugo a little differently these days. While there for a ranch rodeo recently, yes it was recently for those of you "blogger harrassers", some friends of ours allowed their child to buy a puppy, named Hugo, who barked all night long. Riley and I sleep very soundly and it didn't bother us too much. Some in our bunch couldn't say the same. So Hugo has a little different meaning these days.

We tied for first in the rodeo. Tie-breaker was the branding and we unfortunately lost. Oh well, the girls showed in the Cowboy Class of the RHAA for the first time. That was super exciting!! I also have a new camera which allowed me to take more pictures than usual. Let's just say that when I sat down this afternoon to upload to my computer.....there were 845 pics from the last three weeks.

The Sweet T Girl roping!!

ALT girl fencing her cow!!

Scout, Trail, and an unidentified playmate giving the barrel heck. I remember playing on a barrel as a kid.....great fun!

A bottle cap and gravel is pretty good entertainment.

Tripp sticking it on one!! I am so proud of this picture because I think this a great loop and I actually captured it. He'll let me know if not.

Riley heeling for Tripp in the doctoring.

Riley in the branding. Thank goodness for the zoom lens, but I still wish I could make the guys in blue disappear.

Tam & Bob by the old rock bridge on the ranch she grew up on near Lamar, CO.

If I get enough comments to suit me then I just may post about Colorado Springs & our Fourth of July!!

Ace of Cakes

Recognize this guy? Duff Goldman came to Muleshoe, TX.

Hate to say it, but it isn't like me to hold back. This cake was not impressive!! I was hoping it would be a miniature mule or something.

His crew being interviewed out in the middle of the street.

Feeding a mule some cake.

Our bunch!! Hope, Scout, Trail, Julie, Bethany, Heather/Leah, & Haley

Thanks goodness I have my own "Ace of Cakes".....Hope!!

Trail's Birthday @ Wonderland

This year Trail's birthday party took place at Wonderland Park in Amarillo. Tandy and her boys met us up there. We had a small group, just perfect for keeping up with everyone. Summer and Autumn missed out as they were in Clarendon at Leadership Camp. (Not so sure they missed us either!)

Hope made yet another super cool birthday cake. Trail is into guitars and she made a replica of his birthday gift. Super cool!!

Scout pretty much couldn't decide what she thought about the place. She had big eyes, not tears, not many smiles.....just taking it all in. I do know that she has some pretty sweet boy cousins to ride the kitty rides with her and never complain. It was pretty funny to see Riley stuffed in the little airplane with her. Riley had more fun on the bumper cars than adults are supposed to. He is still a kid, right? He and Tandy also rode the big tower that just drops.

Happy Birthday Jerry Trail!!

Our Dad!!

Yes....Father's Day was a few days ago......I know I'm way behind. I even bought him a card at the grocery store on Monday (it wasn't on sale, either). It is super embarassing because he is the best Dad and deserves more.

He is smart, a real go-getter!

He never stops short, he gives it/us all he's got!

He is strong, manly, and good at everything he ever tries.

He is the whole package wrapped up in a handsome wrapper. (lol!!)

TWO....already??

It's hard to believe that our baby is already two.......the quickest and happiest two years of my life. Yes she's hard-headed, stubborn, impatient, ornary, but she is also the sweetest, funniest, cutest, best little girl in the world. Her daddy and I absolutely adore her.

Looking big on her new wheels!!

Hope made "the CAKE".........I don't need to say much else. You can see for yourself how awesome it is.

Her "loot"!! She received so many nice gifts. Thanks everyone!!

A robe that fits!!
I don't know, it is pretty fun to wear Mom's robe that has to be wrapped around her twenty times.

Gracee, Emma, & Scout
Her best play friends that she has talked about every day since the party. She says "comin back?"

Cousins Tate & Pake testing out the tree house/slide that Riley and Keith built.

Swimmin with Tate.....she isn't fond of going under but it somehow happens every time.

Birthday Girl and Dad

Looks like Aunt Pat and Tandy just finished a yummy bite of shrimp. Thanks KD and David for cooking such a delicious supper!!

Girls, girls!!
Scout, me, G-Ma-Ma, Gigi, & Mimi

This was taken at midnight or maybe it just felt like midnight to me. The Spanglers bought her these cupcakes that are a really cool shape matching toy, but mostly she loves to cook them in her kitchen and then make you taste them.

Bummer!! We won't be able to double birthday parties for Scout and her brother. I did put on here that it is "brother" didn't I?
