Feedin' the Fish

Heather and I took our bunch to Plainview yesterday for a little pre-baby outing. The deal is that in about 5 weeks she and I won't fit in the same vehicle anymore.

Scout was not liking the geese very much. Not gonna get too close.

It was much more fun to feed the fish. Just throw something in......

and watch those nasty fish go wild over it.

We had quite a bunch of little girls (You see there is another girl on the hip, right?). A guy at Chicken Express even commented on it as he held the door open for us and there's no telling what the people were saying that got stuck waiting for us to cross the street at Wal-Mart. Oh well, we thought we did good.

My sweetie and I!!! I know you can't see the belly, but the face tells you all you need to know.

FINALLY

September 24-25, 2010
Southwest Showdown
Deming, New Mexico
1st place - Sandhill Cattle Co.

They won!! They won without us there yelling, cheering, hoping they would win. We just sent them to Timbuktu with instructions to win......Period.....and they did.

So now Sandhill will be competing at the 15th Annual World Championship Ranch Rodeo in Amarillo on November 11 - 14, 2010.

This handsome fellar will be carrying the American flag in the grand entry each night since he won Top Hand last year. Yes, I'm proud and I ain't afraid to say it.

A Tapemeasure?

So, we've all found change or crumbs or possibly small animals in our couch, right? We have one huge recliner that we spend lots of time in. At the back the bottom piece has velcro so that you can pull it back and retrieve your items. It's kind of like the lost and found in our house. This afternoon I pull it back and find a tapemeasure.......Not a little bitty key ring size one, a big man size tapemeasure. Also found a domino that I had been seriously looking for so that the whole set wouldn't be ruined and a spoon.

Can you top that?

Baby Blanket

My mom's cousin Carla sent this baby blanket this past week. I think it is the cutest thing and she couldn't have chosen better colors, etc. Exciting!!

Only 7 weeks to go you know. That means I'd better get busy on a baby room and going through pretty much everything we own. How do we accumulate so much stuff?

Super cute western baby blanket!!

Close-up of some of the squares.

This pistol is my favorite!!

The tan squares are embroidered with a star.

Yes....our little cowboy's name is Reno!!

Look what I found...

this picture of my friend Jen and I taken at the Wild Prarie Days Ranch Rodeo in Haskell, TX earlier this summer. She is a hometown girl and came out to cheer on Sandhill. We taught math together at Watson Jr. High in Muleshoe for 2 years. Sure I miss those lunch runs to Sonic, chatting, and I almost miss running up the hill by the country club hearing her panting right along with me. She got her masters and I had a baby, so needless to say we've both moved on to bigger and better things.

Did I mention that neither of us are very photogenic? This is actually a pretty good picture of us. Come down to Earth someday, friend!!

D-O-N-U-T

Remember the kitty-kitty Scout called Medicine? Well he ran away on the day of her birthday party. Meet the replacement, Donut.

"Cheese!"
I think Donut likes having her picture made just as much as Scout does.

"Stay here Donut....."

"We need to talk........"

"Wisten to me!!"

"O sawie......I didn't know you couldn't breathe!!"

Best Friends

One morning this summer we were working and Brad brought Scout a donut. She has never forgotten it and pretty much expects him to have one everytime we see him. Typical girl with donut on the brain, right? That must be why she chose it as her kitty-kitty's name.
